Well slap me silly and call me Sally. After 20+ years of Google wishing SEO’s would just go away, during this pandemic, the search giant has caught a fever-stoked delirium and changed its tune.
Earlier this week, on their Webmaster Central Blog, Google posted an article titled, “Showcasing the value of SEO.” WTF, people this is huge!
Google talks about how they attend many events per year and give advice, “It’s really uplifting when we hear that, by following our advice, they achieved something great! We want people to hear about these success stories, so we’re starting a new blog post series that features case studies. They may, for example, help with convincing a boss’ boss that investing in SEO or implementing structured data can be good for the business.”
So, Google is not only saying that SEO is important but, using a series of blog posts, will show case studies of why SEO is important and how to convince a company’s higher ups that this is so.
As so many businesses are struggling with the impact of the Coronavirus right now, this is good news from the search giant. Did Google just give itself “…to the dark side”?
Naw, SEO, like many other businesses can be white, gray and black, depending upon how it’s implemented. What has never been contested, however, is that SEO is effective.
Thumbs up to Google for coming to the SEO side!
