Google has recently confirmed that it is finished with the page experience update rollout. The end-users are very excited about this update and are looking forward to enjoying an enhanced experience online. The SEO’s are excited, however, in a different way. 😊
Google stated that the page experience update would be done by the end of August. As sometimes happens the rollout took a little longer than expected.
The recent Google announcement on Twitter stated that the page experience rollout is over now along with the updates to the top stories mobile carousel. Furthermore, changes to the popular Google News app were also updated, and they are expected to come to the market within a week.
Mid-June rollout updates:
Some of you might be excited to know what the page experience rollout has to offer. Here are few details:
- The ranking changes are expected to roll out gradually.
- The AMP badge is about to go away.
- The page experience badge is expected to continue to be tested; however, Google has not yet finalized plans regarding this badge.
- The top stories carousel feature is expected to appear on Google Search that will include fresh news content, ensuring that it meets Google news content guidelines and policies.
No big change in rankings
It is important to mention that users and SEO’s may not have observed a huge change in Google Search Engine rankings with this recent release. This can be reported as a slow rollout, and Google has already stated that users should not expect major changes with this update. Although this update is designed to offer an enhanced user experience by highlighting the most relevant pages with priority, page experience is still just one factor to take into account.
No need to confuse this change with a code update
There is no need to confuse this ongoing page experience update with the major core update because the former is mainly focused on core web vitals. Moreover, these changes are unrelated, and they do not have any influence on each other. Also, the core update of Google finished just recently, and it was rolled out on June 12, 2021. The core system updates are more concerned about the ranking fluctuations by websites on Google Search Engine, however, the proposed change is focused on the page experience update.
Why it matters?
Many of Google’s search engine users have already been waiting for this rollout for a long time. As it is finally coming out, people are very excited to experience the changes. However, it is important to mention again that you should not expect any major rankings updates with this rollout, and it should not be confused with the ranking changes associated with the core update.
