Since I run SEO Firm, many things cross my mind during a given day. As I’m sipping my coffee now, I’ve been thinking back to a thread on one of the message board stating that someone from Google (perhaps GoogleGuy) inferred that the PR toolbar indicator was developed and deployed with the intent of being “for entertainment purposes only”.
This caused quite a stir in the SEO community as you might imagine. The last Google PR update on December 31, 2004 was a relief for many (like me) not only because I’ve been waiting for several sites to achieve better PR, but because it made Google more predictable.
The last 3 Google PR updates have been on a quarterly basis and I’ve been predicting in my SEO Firm newsletters and on the message boards that the next Google PR update would occur at the end of 2004. Since this came true, I am pleased.
So the next Google update, according to the quarterly-update-theory should be at the end of March 2005. So let’s do a lot of link-building until then and see how we fare during the next PR update.
