Just like many other locations around the world, Orange County businesses have taken a big hit with Covid-19. But, there is hope now since there is a plan afoot for a measured re-opening of some businesses.
In a county with over 3 million people, as of this writing, there have only been 66 deaths, which is far below the rates for other locations (see chart below).
It is a fact that some companies are jumping the gun and re-opening before they are supposed to do so. And in many cases, there won’t be any consequences.
According to Supervisor Don Wagner, “We are not going to enforce either beach closures or those business closures if they don’t run afoul of the county’s guidelines. And if the governor would like to bring the CHP out or call out the National Guard, the Governor can do what he wants to do.”
Nomads Canteen in San Clemente and Citrus City Grille in Orange are two restaurants that have decided to open since they can no longer take the economic impact to their businesses.
According to ABC 7 News, “Supervisors Michelle Steel and Don Wagner have come out in support of the business.”
So, now that we’re right on the cusp of some companies re-opening and trying to regain money lost due to the Coronavirus, Google is rolling out a massive core algorithm update that is affecting many small businesses.
According to Search Engine Land, “This one is big. We received data from several search data companies, and they all show that this update was very big and substantial — and isn’t even done rolling out yet.”
So, hold onto your bootstraps Orange County businesses as this bumpy ride is about to get even bumpier.
